Mr. Derucki was born and raised in Chicago, IL. He attended Bradley University for his undergraduate work in history and political science. He obtained in his JD in 1988 from IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law and his LLM in Tax Law in 1997 from DePaul University in Chicago. He has been in general practice in north central Indiana since 1997. His practice areas have included business law, contract law, criminal law, family law, estate planning and probate law, school law, and zoning law. He has done both trial litigation and appellate work. Mr. Derucki has been active in local Rotary.
